Membership categories & dues rates

Membership in TBA is an excellent return on investment. Membership categories are as follows:

General Membership: $195

Young Lawyer Membership: $130 (By selecting this Membership, I attest that as of January 1 of the membership year, I am 36 years old or younger or have been in practice less than 5 years. Selection of this membership also provides membership with the TBA Young Lawyer Section and access to the Section's programming.)

First Year of Practice Membership: $50 (By selecting this Membership, I attest I am in my first year of barred practice in the State of Florida, as of January 1 of the membership year. Selection of this membership also provides membership with the TBA Young Lawyer Section and access to the Section's programming.)

Affiliate Membership: $70 (Judicial assistants, paralegal professionals or equivalent)

Associate Membership $195 (Any member of The Florida Bar in good standing, not residing or regularly practicing law in the Second Judicial Circuit, or ay lawyer who is not a member of The Florida Bar but is admitted in good standing to practice law in another state.  Associate members have all the privileges of membership except for holding office.)

Law Student Membership: $0

Members can post employment opportunities free of charge to TBA’s job bank. The job bank is shared on our active Facebook and Twitter profiles—giving your job announcement greater reach in the Second Judicial Circuit.

TBA’s Facebook and Twitter accounts are integrated into The Florida Bar’s vast social media network, so posts about our members’ news, pro bono service, awards and firm milestones get statewide attention.

INSPIRATIONAL MEMBERS-ONLY AWARDS

Only TBA members can be nominated for our annual awards: Champion for Diversity in the Legal Profession, Martha Barnett Women Lawyers of Achievement, Lifetime Professionalism and Thomas M. Ervin Jr. Distinguished Young Lawyer. Award recipients receive excellent publicity through local media, The Florida Bar News and on social media.

VOLUNTARY PRO BONO SERVICE

TBA members now can participate in voluntary pro bono service or have new opportunities to meet The Florida Bar’s pro bono goals and objectives – and the need is great in our community.

COMMITTEE SERVICE

Involvement in your local bar association through committee service is an excellent way to network with other legal professionals and improve TBA’s key programs. We want our campaign to take the Tallahassee Bar Association to the next level – but we can’t do it without YOU.
