The Young Lawyers' Section of the Tallahassee Bar Association is comprised of over 80 members of young attorneys or those attorneys recently admitted to the Bar. The purpose of the Young Lawyers' Section is to stimulate interest of young and recently admitted attorneys in the objectives of the Tallahassee Bar Association and to promote professional and social understanding and cooperation among the members of the legal community. The Young Lawyers' Section strives to contribute to the educational and professional advancement of attorneys, particularly the younger members of the Bar, as well as contribute to the betterment of the community in general through charity functions and projects. For example, the Young Lawyers' Section annually sponsors charity events such as Christmas in July for disadvantaged children and distinguished lecture series approved by the Florida Bar for C.L.E. credits. We also have an annual social event where we host a party for all young lawyers. The Young Lawyers' Section also acts as liaison to the Florida State University College of Law Students.
To be eligible for membership in The Young Lawyers' Section, an attorney must be under the age of thirty-six years of age or a member of the bar for less than five years. Additionally, each candidate must complete membership application to ensure The Young Lawyers' Section is able to maintain accurate membership rolls.
