Congratulations to Legal Aid Foundation of Tallahassee Executive Director, Darby Kerrigan Scott, on two recent notable recognitions. First, Scott was one of 65 Government/Non-Profit Attorneys in Florida, and one of eight Florida Bar Foundation staff or grantees, to be recognized as a 2016 Florida Legal Elite by Florida Trend. According to Florida Trend, the lawyers who receive this recognition “exemplify a standard of excellence in their profession and by so doing, have garnered the respect and esteem of their colleagues.”
Second, on August 4, 2016, the Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency, Chapter 2 (Leon, Gadsden and Wakulla Counties), whose mission is “to serve as a catalyst for the prevention and reduction of crime and delinquency and to enhance the quality of justice for all Floridians,” presented Scott with the 2016 Judicial Distinguished Service Award. In addition to leading the Legal Aid Foundation of Tallahassee, Scott currently serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of PACE Center for Girls (Leon County), on the Board of Directors of the Survive and Thrive Advocacy Center (serving victims of human trafficking in the Second Judicial Circuit), and as a Commissioner on the Tallahassee-Leon County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls. She is a member of Leadership Tallahassee Class 33, and was the 2016 recipient of the Thomas M. Ervin, Jr. Distinguished Young Lawyer Award.
