Jack Campbell speaks on Florida’s Capital Sentencing Scheme.  FGBA Officer Elections. The Florida Bar, Board of Governors, Candidate Endorsement.

Jack Campbell, Assistant State Attorney, will be our keynote speaker at our next CLE luncheon discussing Florida’s Capital Sentencing Scheme after Hurst v. Florida on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at noon, at the Capital City County Club, 1601 Golf Terrace, Tallahassee, Florida 32301. The cost is $15 for members and students, and $20 for guests.

This month will also be our Annual Membership Meeting where we will elect FGBA’s new officers. A number of individuals have expressed interest in standing for election with several current officers desiring to continue in service.  If you are interested in running for an officer position, or would like more information on the candidates, please reply to this email.

FGBA has been asked to endorse a candidate for The Florida Bar, Board of Governors, Second Judicial Circuit Seat.  Our constitution and bylaws authorize such an endorsement by a majority vote. The vote is open to all members in good standing and can be accessed by clicking on the link to the rightThe vote will close at 5:00 PM on January 26 to facilitate tabulation and verification of results.  The decision will be announced at the conclusion of the January 27 Membership Meeting.
