Cheyanne Costilla, General Counsel of the Florida Commission on Human Relations, will be our keynote speaker at our next CLE luncheon discussing the FCHR’s mission and functions, the FCHR complaint process, FCHR’s training services, and the Florida Civil Rights Act on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at noon, at the Capital City County Club, 1601 Golf Terrace, Tallahassee, Florida 32301. The cost is $15 for members and students, and $20 for guests.

We have selected a new Vice-President.  The Board of the Association is pleased to announce that Ms. Amanda McKibben will be serving as Vice-President.  Amanda joins President David W. Grimes, Treasurer Kristen Krueger, Secretary Jennifer Fortenberry, at large member Justin Chang, at large member Annie Prescott, at large member Alison Parker, and Past President Philip Fowler as the Association’s Executive Board for 2016.  To learn more about our officers, visit our website!

Membership Cards are coming to FGBA!  Following feedback from members, FGBA will be issuing membership cards to all members in good standing. This will make the process of check in at CLE luncheon’s easier and more transparent.  The cards should be available beginning with our March CLE Luncheon.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Jazz for Justice, a fantastic event which raises funds for Legal Services of North Florida, Inc., to continue their work providing no-cost civil legal representation to domestic violence victims, children, the elderly, oil spill victims, and families in danger of losing their homes.  For more information or to purchase tickets, visit jazzforjustice.org.

Finally, don’t forget to follow FGBA on Facebook and Twitter!  We love to see and promote the good work that Government Lawyers are up to out in the community.

Thanks!
