CLE Presidential Showcase
Time: 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center, Orlando
We are at the crossroads of an ever-changing landscape in the legal profession. Our challenge is to strategize how we are going to respond and adapt our practices in this new environment.
I ask that you join me in personally attending, and encouraging your members to attend, a CLE Presidential Showcase entitled, “A Transforming Legal Environment: Setting a New Course for Success” which is being presented on Friday afternoon, June 27, 2014 by The Florida Bar’s Vision 2016 Commission.
This educational program will feature a keynote presentation by renowned author and legal industry analyst Jordan Furlong which is entitled “Deep Impact: What The Legal Profession Can Learn From The Chicxulub Comet”.
The focus of this presentation will be on the legal market entering a period of upheaval, unprecedented in its history, that will change the business environment completely and create new and unique challenges for lawyers. Jordan Furlong will explain the transformations that are occurring within the legal market and map out the evolution of that market over the coming decades, discussing strategies and tactics that lawyers can use to emerge from this period of disruption stronger and better able to serve their clients.
There will also be a series of interviews with the Vision 2016 Committee Chairs as they review their work in the areas of Access to Legal Services, Bar Admissions, Legal Education, and Technology, and report their preliminary findings after one year of study.
We will also have an all-star panel discussion as well as an opportunity for audience participation through open suggestions to the Commission and a question and answer session that will follow.
In order to make attendance most convenient, you may attend the live presentation in Orlando or view the webcast free of charge. Both include 3.0 hours of CLE credit for Florida Bar members.
I ask that you please help push attendance for this event and become the architects that help shape a better future.
Thanks in advance for your support and attendance.
