2016 Merit Retention Poll deadline is September 6th Posted August 23, 2016 by Tallahassee Bar Association

Every two years, Florida’s voters are asked whether the Florida Supreme Court justices and the district courts of appeal judges up for retention deserve another six-year term, and the Bar’s merit retention poll assists the public with the process.  Ballots were mailed August 15, and in-state members in good standing can complete the poll online or return the paper version of the poll by mail.  Instructions for voting online will accompany the ballots.  The deadline for online voting is 11:59 p.m. EDT, September 6.  The paper ballots also must be received no later than September 6.

Please see the news story that appeared in the August 1 Bar News Journal. All of the justices and DCA judges up for retention are listed in the article.  It is important that as many attorneys as possible participate in the merit retention poll process.
